James Madison
Diminutive in stature but giant of mind, Madison was the driving force behind the creation of the most radical document in the history of popular government – The Constitution of the United States of America.
He is rightly called the “Father” of what is today the longest serving governing constitution still in use. The reason for this was his power of persuasion. He was quite simply more versed in political thought than anyone in America. He was deft at overwhelming his opponents with the sheer force of his arguments. Though just 5’3” and 120 pounds, he loomed larger than anyone else at the Constitutional Convention that fateful summer of 1787.
